Lucy, just wanted to let you know I love your book, TUCK YOUR SKIRT IN YOUR PANTIES AND RUN! I have almost finished it and I want you to know the story on pages 47 & 48 really inspired me. In fact you inspired me so much that I shaved my head, but not for money, for support of my sister-in-law who has breast cancer. When I saw your picture and you looked so great, I knew I could do it too. Thank you so much for sharing your gift of writing, sense of humor and inspiration. Keep up the good work!!! Love, Phyllis Martin

Pour a tall glass of sweet iced tea, sit back and relax on the front porch and savor the down-home humor of Ms. Adams, but be warned, the tea's just as cold coming out through your nose.- Rick Rantamacki, author of Mental Notes - From the Brink of Reality

Join a 40 year-old bridesmaid on her journey to walk down the aisle, delve into a magnolia massacre, attend a hawg killin' with the communists, do some island living country style, and inflict vicarious revenge on the inventor of the balloon. Adams's wit will make you turn around and check your own underwear. Best of all we each can relax in the realization that we're not the only ones running with our skirts tucked in our panties.
I bought this book as a Christmas gift for my mom, but couldn't resist reading part of it before it was wrapped! What I found was that I couldn't put it down. I ended up reading the entire book. What made it such light, easy reading was the 1-2 pages each about subjects and situations so familiar to us all! If you need a good laugh, this is the book for you! You may just realize you are really laughing at yourself! - Jennifer Newton, from review
In her much awaited second book, award winning writer Lucy Adams, author of If Mama Don't Laugh, It Ain't Funny, takes readers on a roller-coaster ride through life's most embarrassing moments and delivers them safely on the other side. In her usual form, Adams gives readers an eye-watering, nose-snorting, giggling gift of a good time.

Reading anything written by Lucy Adams is like solving the problems of the world, particularly the world of family life, over a cup of coffee with your best girlfriend. Her prose takes the mundane, morose and maddening things that are part of everyday life and weaves them into stories that will have you laughing, crying and mostly realizing that yes, you are pretty much like everyone else. - Karin Calloway, editor, Augusta Family Magazine and author of Quick Cooking with Karin Calloway

You heard it here first - If mama don't laugh, it ain't funny - and truer words were never said. Lucy's mama did not laugh when she and her older brother, playing with matches, accidentally set the woods on fire behind their house. Her mama didn't laugh when they dropped the cat out of the hayloft upside down to see if it would land on its feet. She might have giggled a little if they hadn't also put the cat in a paper bag before dropping it. (The cat did land on its feet, completely unharmed).
Lucy Adams can bring on the belly laughs. And this is good for healing and toning the abs! Her book, If Mama Don't Laugh, It Ain't Funny, is a real mood lifter, and it beats the heck out of going to the gym. - Susan Reinhardt, best-selling author of Not Tonight Honey, Wait Til I'm a Size 6, and Don't Sleep with a Bubba

Lucy's mama didn't even laugh when Lucy told her about all these things, including the most recent transgression - referring to her mama as an "old woman" on her blog - were all Lucy's older brother's ideas. But despite everything Lucy did to try to make her laugh, her mama does love the book, If Mama Don't Laugh, It Ain't Funny, because her mama always told her that someday Lucy would have kids just like herself. Mama's laughing now because she has proof that mama ain't wrong, even if she ain't exactly right.
